About me: Tim is a
freelance Theatre practitioner & Artistic Director of THRIFT Music
Theatre Company.
The
Thrift flower grows almost anywhere, where other plants can't & won't
flourish. Similarly, Thrift seeks to find ideas for Theatre in unusual
& sometimes difficult places. Everything we use to start our work
with has either been found in the street, in a Thrift shop or overheard
in a conversation. We recycle it all and use it to make Music Theatre
which tells new stories, in strange, innovative and fantastic ways.
CAMPS
It's
not a drama club. We don't pick up scripts & it's not somewhere
for egos. It's about discovering new ways of being creative. Living,
experiencing & performing with other young people from across the
U.K who are as passionate about Theatre as you. Working closely with inspirational
West End & National Theatre Artists, who will support, listen &
respect you. Come & be part of an amazing week.

COURT SUMMER CAMPS 2009: August TBC

Everyone
who comes on one of our camps is promised a unique experience. We seek
out unusual and exciting places to work, and in 2009 hope to be able
to take a group of Thrifters to both Europe & New York.
The other
young people attending these camps will be either 11-14 or 15-19. We get
a good spread of ages coming to work with us, and we believe that working
with a diverse age range helps build the family atmosphere we actively
promote during our camps.
There is
no formal selection process for our Camps, and anyone is welcome to attend.
The only requirement is that you are passionate about Music Theatre! Even though we
do not currently receive any funding, we always try to subsidise places
for those people who might not be able to afford the course fee.
how you doing? i mentioned booking another day to sarah and she mumbled something about that being good and has aid nothing since - typical. Just thought i'd let u know our devised are next wednesday, during the day. i kno its pretty late notice but if your free would be great to see u there. were all frantically rehearsing atm but its going well.
Heya Tim, the workshop was pretty awesome thanks, really well organised and it 'flowed'. it was singing in the morning, which went well and then drama, and finally the moment i had been dreading; 'dancing'. I guess it was pretty clear that i should stick to the irish..:) but everyone there was supportive and all that, so it was good.

Auditioned for NYMT today and just got back, im absoloutly knackered. The singing and drama went really well, but as for the dancing, it was a bit difficult, but I 'managed' :)Thanks again for telling me about NYMT
