Influences
My music is influenced by lots of things, but bands I recomend are...
swans, slint, godspeed you black emporer, black flag, black sabbath, red stars parade, neurosis, ink and dagger, low, angel of the light, nick cave, nick drake, elliot smith, joy division, the cure, Will Oldham, Oldseed, Bruce springsteen, my bloody valentine, rachels and loads more besides.
Also the films of mr David Lynch have been a constant source of inspiration.
So this was all a bit too much so I'm keeping it simple. I'm a musician I play music because i enjoy it... I have been in metal bands I have been in Prog bands... Good music is just good music. The music i make i enjoy if you like it thank you, if you don't like it fair art is subjective after all.
The music I make can be described I guess as Folk/blues/Americana, I also have another guise Timothy C Holehouse in which i play more leftfield material with noise and sound Callage pieces.
I have toured through out the world, i have played with some incredible musicians over the years. I have put out several records and have many more to come.
I write about things that move me whether they be flims, situations, political view points and whatever.
I like to play live and have no qualms about playing either massive venues or front rooms... if you want me to play your town, ask I'm always open to offers. I love meeting new people whether they are musicians or not.
This month we mostly have Catie Curtis (with a Richard Thompson cover), Lindsay Fuller and The Cheap Dates (and who amongst us isn't?), Josh Fix with a track from the well-titled album This Town Is Starting To Make Me Angry and the rather lovely Red Rooster.
I think you are doing spectacularly to get into terrorizer! You got 6 out of 10 for "To the Howls at Midnight" which is respectable indeed. Here is the article:
"On the quote-unquote heavy side of things, you may have encountered Tim Holehouse fronting blaring sludge ensemble Among the Missing or early-millennium screamo flailers Soon the Darkness. His rate of recording and release has rarely waned though and this solo disc - an indulgent 79 minutes worth - sees him tackle churchy meditative ambience and hyper-minimalist drone n pulse." (6)
Lol, I've never seen drone'n'pulse spelt like pic'n'mix.
I will definitely forward you some artwork for tapes, can you send me your address please? I'm currently researching the ever-grimm Anselm Kiefer. My responses to his work might be suitable for you! x
Four more little sonic gems for your August pleasure are now available on the site. Blitzen Trapper, Boulder Acoustic Society, Jay Brannan and The Wiyos. Yet another fine quartet even though we say so ourselves as picked them out.
I saw your CD reviewed in Terrorizer! Not bad at all! ;) Well done my boy! I just quit my full time job to start my Fine Art course. If I get a part time one I will save up, get a night bus to London and come and be in that video of yours.
I never know whether to post on this profile or your Timothy C one, should it be dependant on the genre of music I want to discuss? x
Hey Timmy! The first TWO shows were good in different ways! A learning experience. The second one was funnier, lots of talking of shit! Yeah lets drink soon my man x
thanks for awesome live show here in iceland, We just love your drone/noice stuff. hope you come to Iceland soon again and we are more than ready to play with you again.
It's the festival I'm booking. And I've sent out a mail to more than 100 friends, teachers, preachers and other connections that I have to join my birthday party. Should be nice. Let me know if you have any questions!
