I have always felt that music was the most important element to any picture. How lucky I am that this life has given me the opportunity to obsess about wondrous sounds and to spend countless hours humming new tunes? Meaningful time, indeed.
Without all the b.s. I am excited as hell to tell everyone about the brand new CD I just released!
Check out the wright-up below for details regarding the above mentioned EP: All Along.
By the way...anyone committed to daily rehearsal of unadulterated country, folk, and/or bluegrass pickin', really ought to get a hold of me.
For all the facts on said music, check out Click it! for a chance to read the full story and listen to two more songs only available on the CD.
All Along had to come out. The old country gods of yesterday were lurking and knocking somewhere deep inside.
It makes no references to drinkin' or cheatin', but the sentiment holds true none the less. Tales of hope and heartbreak all referenced between lines of adoration for one’s country heros, losing the deal and then selling your truck, and weekly meetings in the afternoon.
Sprouting from the northern land of Eureka, California, LaLonde has set forth on a tale of country music servitude amidst a jungle of serendipity: problems, people, and the eternal love of music.
After living in Chico (no, not Chino), California for a bit, getting his real education on as a guitar player in a punk & blues band called The Old Crooks [1997 - 2000], while simultaneously a student at CSU, Chico, earning a BA in music, he decided it was absolutely time for a change. That is how he met the banjo, Perle. And that is why he lives in Los Angeles today.
Shying away from record labels, this album was written and produced exclusively by Tim LaLonde with the help of some fine bow fiddlin' and pedal steelin' by Stephanie Bettman and Sean Caffey. What beholds is a sonic feast of well recorded and performed tunes, while tightly conceived improvisations linger throughout.
The “main men” Jacob Morgan and Michael Wachs hold down the tempo and rhythm section with crisp perfection, while the ever present acoustic guitar picks and bends and generally smokes. Let us not forget the immortal Telecaster whose name whines and moans throughout, offering up tales of a forgotten time.
The vocals are a steeped in 1942 era blues, old-time, and traditional bluegrass harmonies. The cherry on top is the modern mix of only the finest analog gear and vintage mics, handled with care, and presented, in stereo, for your listening pleasure.
Still listening? Available now at this totally cool website for independent musicians called CD Baby. They can ship it with all the fancy artwork to you, or you can download it there.
