Band MembersFor the vast majority of the music that is posted here, the details are as follows: Tim Langan: All Instrumentation and programming. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Harrison Fjord are: Sascha Tukatsch - Drums, Percussion, Keyboards //Paul McWhinnie - Guitars, Keyboards //Tim Langan - 4 & 5 String Basses, Keyboards //Carl Braund - CP80 Yamaha Grand Piano with MIDI retrofit, Keyboards
InfluencesInfluences are vast and varied. As youngsters we started playing the likes of Rush and Max Webster in tribute type acts. We later grew into progressive bands such as Yes, ELP, Genesis, Jeff Beck, Pink Floyd. As the pop years crept into our collective psyche, Peter Gabriel, Level 42 and a host of other icons graced the scene, but it was the others - Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Miles Davis, Bruford, UK, Gentle Giant, Pat Metheny Group, David Sanborn, Dream Theater, Tool, Perfect Circle, Marillion, Porcupine Tree, Kings X, Me’shell N’degeocello, Pain Of Salvation, that made an impression that won’t be eroding any time soon. These are a few of the 2600 CD’s that I own and listen to that have effected the way I do and see things. Music is a wonderous story that should be shared. Keep it close to your heart and remember to be nice to people, but keep pushing around those air molecules, especially if you’re a bass player ! AND if you really need to know my influences ...... try checking out my FRIENDS section, because they have all influenced ME more than they will ever know.

About Tim Langan - The Harrison Fjord
..
I am a writer, bassist, keyboardist, producer, arranger and have been writing and recording music for about 30 years. In that time I have recorded with a diverse and extremely talented bunch of musicians from Toronto to Vancouver, Canada and have compiled a selection of CD's on my resume, however I will currently include a couple of links here for you to check out. - http://www.theharrisonfjord.com - This is a band of 4 childhood friends who started playing together in grade school and worked on and off for the next 30 years or so jamming, writing and recording literally thousands of different compositions. When we started playing together in grade school circa 1978 we were interested in playing music by bands such as; Rush, Max Webster, Saga, Genesis, etc .... so for years we worked our craft and got our chops together. Since we had been playing off and on together for such a long time, without any definitive product to our name, we decided it was time to record a CD of mostly instrumental fusion and throw it at the wall to see if it would stick. We'd love for you to check it out - www.theharrisonfjord.com - and if you're so inclined, we'd love to know what you think of the stuff. Drop me a line here or post your thoughts on the comments page of the website. - http://www.theharrisonfjord.com The next link that I'd like to offer up is for another recording/instrumental band, consisting of the rhythm section (bass & drums) from The Harrison Fjord mixed with the guitar wizardry of David Barrett. The concept was to have the 3 of us walk into a recording environment and have no verbal communication regarding what it was that we were going to do. We just opened our ears and minds and started speaking with our instruments to one another. We were quite surprised when we listened back to these recordings .......... and now ........ we literally have started a vault of recorded material. If you'd like to check out some of it, here is the link on my space: http://www.myspace.com/splubband Enjoy and kindest regards, T as in Trill, TripleT, Treble, Triad, Tremelo, Time, TuTTi, Timbre, Tablas, Tambourine, Tone, Theme, TenuTo, TIMbrel, TIMpani, TIMbale, ThirTy-second noTe, Tinkle, Tubular, Tape recorder, Tuba, TrumpeT, Trombone, Tom-Tom, Tempo, Tuning, Twang, Theorbo, Tie, Tabor, Transcribe, TenThs, Thirds, Thumb Thump, Tub Thump, Thrummed, TurnTable, TablaTure, Turn-a-round, Tango, Twelve Tone, & (7th note of the scale, - doe, ray, me, fa, so, la, Ti...) hehehe....you guy you.

Funny you mentioned Jeff Beck, cause I'm getting into his Half-bend technique, as well as his whammy expressions...using it live on some tracks here actually...
Sasch's tracks ?...nope ...unfortunately not.
This is from last week's recording session for the upcoming CD. It's kinda like Evanescence meets Alicia Keys....yep....can't think of a better comparison...

Peace Out...and, no...you can't kill my beautiful Conklin...she stays a 7-string.
