"Tim Lee's lead guitar gets better every year... his phrasing is just superb!" "...up there with anything pulled off on Delmark's recent live disc by Lurrie Bell and Michael Coleman who are two of Chicago's best players." -Edmonton Sun

"...has learned his blue lessons well, getting early inspiration from Mel Brown before apprenticing with the likes of Russell Jackson and Sam Cockrell." "...presents a good mix of originals and covers, some fine playing and a selection of material that touches a lot of blues bases." -SEE Magazine

Armed with his guitar, his voice and a respect for past traditions, Tim Lee is a Canadian Blues player looking to the future. "Assuredly somebody with something to say and a new way to say it." is how Blues Revue describes the Ontario-born, Edmonton based performer who Echo Magazine calls "a consummate bluesman with a chrome polished voice and howling guitar."

Hot on the heels of his tenure with ‘The Russell Jackson Band’ (former bassist with the B.B. King Orchestra) and Chicago’s premier R&B band ‘Sam Cockrell and the Groove’, Tim is at it again. As a solo acoustic show or with his band ‘The Revelators’, he continues to deliver at a world class level, night after night. Along with ‘The Revelators’, Tim has been collaborating with, among others, keyboardist/vocalist Graham Guest (Sue Foley Band) in a partnership which has resulted in a number of incendiary performances and a new live CD released in October, 2006. Along with Canadian and international dates, Tim continues to write and record songs for his next studio release .

Since his first performance in 1991, Tim has enjoyed appearing with many wonderful artists like Donald Ray Johnson, Kenny ‘Blues Boss’ Wayne and Eddie Vaan Shaw Jr. He has also made appearances at the Edmonton Labatt’s Blues Festival, S.O.B.A. Blues Picnic, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Pop The Gator and upstairs at the el Mocambo. Through all that, he acknowledges the good fortune he’s had, learning from some of the best in the business. Most recently, Russell Jackson and Sam Cockrell.

Tim states “Russell taught me more about Blues than anyone. He also taught me about stuff you don’t find on the records. Things like how to keep your head on straight, how to survive the rigors of the road and above all how to deliver a world class performance – every time – no matter what. Working with Sam Cockrell gave me the opportunity to dive much deeper into old school funk, r&b, soul and even disco. They both taught me a lot about being an entertainer and they never restricted me to the sidelines. I was given the opportunity to be right out front and was encouraged to shine.”

Add to that the undeniably huge influence guitar god Mel Brown has had on him since their first meeting early in Tim’s career and you’ve got the man Exclaim! Magazine calls “…a maverick with a unique new take on the blues.”

Whew! That's a relief. So glad to hear you'll be back.

Did you hear about the closing of the Onion? I'm so sad. But the newsletter says they're looking for a new, more central location.

I managed to get my dance on once more this month before that happened.
