Bio
........Photography by Andrew Lee [09.27.08 | Rusty's Surf Ranch]......Tim Morrow was born in 1952 in Battle Creek, Michigan and raised out in the country just outside a small town called Delton. Life was slow and easy living on the lake, playing ball and going to school..... Growing up his dad had records of Fats Domino and Ray Charles—he loved them both. He remembered two songs in particular that Fats Domino sang “Blueberry Hill” and “I’m Walkin.” Then came the Beatles. The music knocked him for a loop and then the rest of the British invasion led by the Rolling Stones, the Who, the Kinks, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Dave Clark 5 and Hermans Hermits followed. He was also a big early Motown fan and a fan of The Four Tops, the Temptations, and the Supremes. Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye were early favorites..... Tim started playing guitar somewhere around the age of 17 or trying to anyway. By the time he was about 18 he had started to write some songs and eventually formed a band after high school with mates Jay Hill and the late Marty Hunter. They called themselves USS kind of like Yes and it was an acoustic rock band. They did gigs around the Battle Creek/Kalamazoo area in Michigan..... In 1974, Tim headed west and met Jerry Juden who became a great friend and was a fellow musician. They formed a band called The Most in the late 70’s and had shows around L.A. in such places as The Troubadour, Starwood, Madame Wongs in Chinatown, Club 88 and the Hong Kong Cafe as well as numerous stops at the infamous Rock Corporation in Van Nuys. The band did that for a few years and then the band broke up. Tim and Jerry went their separate ways and then reformed in 1996 as The Shamus Twins and recorded a self-titled CD which was released in July of 2004. The Shamus Twins’ CD was on local rock impresario David Bash’s Top 100 List for 2004..... Now, Tim is out with a new solo CD. New tales to be written and told as the music reaches out to listeners. .. .. -
