As the title suggests, Transformation is a concept work tracing a series of events ultimately transforming the protagonist's life. Along the way we're treated to some densely arranged and accessible yet challenging music, including the Yes-like opener "Present Moment," the ornately pleasing instrumental "Prelude" and a sprawling 16 minute opus "Apocalyptic Visions." Morse's wide-ranging progressive palette also includes an ambient track, the closer "Ascension." If you're looking for a modern prog-rock album, nothing gets proggier.
