Well, besides my patient wife, and my daughter (who did the artwork for all my discs except the first one), there's:
Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Radiohead, Pink Floyd (1966-1975), Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Translator, Roger Miller and Mission of Burma, Beatles, Tool, great soundtrack guys (like Billy Goldenberg and Gil Melle), Indian/Pakistani/Bengali music, Led Zeppelin, Native American music, Captain Beyond, CSNY, Salem 66, Brazil 66, Glenn Campbell, Boyce & Hart, Jimmy Webb, Country Joe and the Fish, Joni Mitchell, Cocteau Twins, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Queen, King Crimson, Nick Drake, Pearls Before Swine, Leo Kottke, John Fahey, Cul de Sac, Dreamchild, Miche Fambro, Jefferson Airplane, Silver Apples, Can, Faust, Genesis, Yes, Left Banke, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Jeff Buckley, This Heat, Tim Buckley, Fred Neal, Glen Campbell, Willie Nelson, John McLaughlin, Carlos Santana, Steve Tibbetts, Bill Frisell, Rich Gilbert, Led Zeppelin, Yardbirds, Fever Tree, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Jaco Pastorious, Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, Opium Den, early electronic music from folks like the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and the amazing Herbert Eimert, and semi-guilty pleasures like Seals and Crofts' "Summer Breeze," early Carole King, early Carly Simon, etc.
Sounds Like
The Doors, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Syd Barrett, Left Banke, Joy Division, Neil Young/Crazy Horse, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Jimi Hendrix, Jonathan Richman
I explore inner and outer space through guitar, voice, and various gadgets. I write songs that are meant for mystic transport. No chemical enhancements necessary ;-)
I'm in the All Music Guide! All 3 of my current discs got a 4-star review there! I'm *somebody* now! ;-)

My RHYTHM SECTION is made up of Cul de Sac veterans Michael Bloom (bass) and Jon Proudman (drums). They are among the best in the United States, and it is an honor to play with them.
My tastes are almost too eclectic, but my favorite style is psychedelic pop and rock.
I also love to perform avant garde music, with or without the aid of looping devices.
Folks say I sound like The Doors, Syd Barrett, Left Banke, Joy Division, Crazy Horse, Quicksilver Messenger Service... some even say I remind them of Jimi, which is cool with me because I have loved Jimi for millions of years.
I have many loves besides music, and they all help my music indirectly:
*visual art (especially Surrealism and Dada);
*Edward Lear and other masters of literary nonsense;
*comics;
*machinery, especially cars and trains;
*archery (...even though I have no place to practice. You could call it a hobby in waiting. I just love the sound!);
I also love animals in general and (for reasons not yet determined) goats in particular. And dogs. Especially Greyhounds, because they are gentle, lovably eccentric, *and* so aerodynamic!
