After the surprising success of of his debut “Down to the Delta (2005)“ which was reviewed as album of the month in the German Bluesnews, and his follow up ”Travellin”(2007), the south-german guitarist arrives on tour with a fresh album. On his new CD “Desire”(2008, Zyx/Peppercake) “this man aims to entertain in a fantastic manner. No matter if he..s moving on soulful, funky or rootsrocking pathways. At his energy driven concerts, which he celebrates with an “empathetic and earthy voice” (Bluesmagazine, France), he presents his typical musical interpretation of Blues and Blue moods, between Delta and New Orleans, from Shuffle to Funk. Conscious of tradition – but yet modern, his voice and guitar form an energetic and emotional unity and appear magically linked.
On stage he..s supported by two longtime companions, Michael Siegwart (Drums) and Frowin Ickler (Bass): “Tight and compact, always keeping the groove in the centre” (Concerto, Austria), this rhythm section after 600 gigs runs like a machine. “This trio starts where others play their encore”, the Rheinpfalz wrote in an euphoric critique. Here comes a band that’s grown, suffered, partied and lived together.
A band that interprets the Blues always new, but always remains faithful to its melancholic and emotional soul.
