About me:
Note to Musical Artists Wanting to Add Me
I appreciate and enjoy getting messages from musical artists I've never heard before, but I don't appreciate musical artists who try to "friend" me w/o messaging me first--it's bad form--kind of like spam. I admit it--I'm a guy who has trouble saying no. So I may approve you as a friend because I hate rejecting anyone, but in all truthfulness, I may have added you without even listening to your music.
Please message me first if you'd like to be added (maybe letting me know what's your band's best track as well), and let me be the one to add you. I'd also appreciate it if you would note what musical influence of mine relates to your band's work--I'm not big on Blink 182 punk pop, so why even add me if that's your thing? If I like what I hear, I'll add you and maybe even pimp you to my friends. Otherwise, please don't be offended if I don't add you. It's just MySpace, and there's probably at least a hundred other people who would love you.
Thanks, Tim
As for everybody else who wants to add me for non-promotional purposes (you may even like me?)--feel free to friend me!

Who I'd like to meet:
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!
-Rudyard Kipling
let’s smoke some butts, Steve
let’s smoke some butts come on
let’s smoke some butts come on
I’m hoping for somebody
Somebody who will love me
And I’m not sure that that’s very ssss--hard to find
Cause I never really looked
I never really took
A second glance at something you said
-Malkmus
"There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is on a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others."
-Martha Graham
