Influences
The music of Coco Rosie, Bright Eyes, Django Reinhart, Fats Swaller, The Smiths, Jeff Buckely, The Cure, Ray Charles, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Hank Williams, The Pogues, The Kinks, Beruit, Toumani Diabate.
Closer to home I listen to a lot of music of my comrades, Edward Guglielmino, Tom Cooney, Mardi Brown, Jackie Marshall, Nathan Hollywood, Cameron Elliott, Cori Scanlon, The Gin Club, The Shakedowns, Darren Hanlon.
My name is Timothy Carroll. I play in a band with a bunch of musicians who put me to shame. Our stages are the carpeted and gaffa taped venues of Australia, this panting and tropical colonial outpost. Our drink of choice is the Patsy cline.
Timothy Carroll's style reflects influences such as Damien Rice, Beth Orton
and Rufus Wainwright. His approach to songwriting and his delivery is contemporary and vibrant. - Faster Louder
Timothy Carroll plays music full of wry wit and cleverly observed details. He slides some
nicely chosen covers into his set as well, including CocoRosie's By My Side, singing about happily dying a housewife just as earnestly as they do. -

Undoubtedly one of Brisbane's best kept secrets and arguably finest musicicans around right
now is Timothy Carroll. – TimeOff
Just letting you know, my EP "Imaginary Mind" has finally arrived! It can be bought from my website for $10, which is found on my page, and along with that i have also uploaded two songs from it! So please have a listen if you have time, would be great to hear what you think!
Nice meeting you last night at the tent Tim! The gig was super great. Amazing band and music you've got there! Thanks, too, for the CD & signage. Glad I grabbed one off Ben and Ange :)
"...it’s like Kid Strange and Urban Blitz from the Doctors of Madness at
their most morose played Overhang Party, or a mogadon’d Peter Hammill
jamming with Van Der Graaf’s Graham Smith. Elsewhere, the singular
desolation is most reminiscent of the most down down moments of Nico’s
THE MARBLE INDEX or even of Jesse Colin Young’s The Youngbloods at
their most mercurial. But the Scrapes are still so original their music
ultimately don’t sound like nobody but themselves." Julian Cope
Hello to all, Just thought we'd stop by and say thank you ,to all the awesome bands that have sent in their material which has been aired on the show throughout the years.
We have had an exceptional response through myspace from some of the most talented underground musicians in the world . It is your contribution to our show that show people that there are still actually real musicians out there [and rap is surely not damn music, neither is that techno crap].
Undergroundsounds airs throughout Australia Thursday/Saturdays p.m.
Bands that would like their music aired on any future shows can forward their material to the address below;
Undergroundsounds Program Manager 44 Bambil St, Crestmead,Queensland. Australia.

Hey! Went to add you as a friend and MySpace informs me that we are already friends... Go figure. I played bass for Madeleine at the Paddington Fair - was well impressed with your set, mate.
"Also
hugely enjoyable, highly original AND psychically useful is the music
of Australian duo The Scrapes, whose fiery epic guitar and abandoned
Mithraic fiddle pieces evoke images of lost Keltic lands inundated by
the oceans, lost Iberian & Armorican sea peoples and lost times
from beyond the beyond." Julian Cope
