Son of an Irish nurse, and a Black Country engineer as a father.
Music in the blood, poetry in the mind, he sways through life, with a thoughtful heart.
A travelling minstrel by trade, and passionate to the core. All that witness him are left reeling in his sounds, and connected to his guile.
Adventure.
Having secured the respect of esteemed musician, Gary Lucas, co-writer of the magical Jeff Buckley "Grace" album, Timothy travelled the raging seas to New York, to perform at Gary Lucas’ request, performing two headline shows at The Knitting Factory, and getting airtime on WFNU; CHUO; and Kiac Radio, with solid plug in Time Out Magazine, and the famous Greenwich "Village Voice" earning the respect of established acts all over the world.
On his return, he opened proceedings at Mr. Lucas’ hailed show at the legendary 12Bar club in Camden, receiving rave reviews, and much kudos from the tightly-packed audience.
Just one man, one guitar, made to sound like an incendiary chorus of instruments, with a little of Timothy’s secret ingredient -passion.
Soon to dominate the freak scene near you. Timothy Parkes is a passion that is here to stay.
And you will hear him soon.

Hazel O’Connor The Robin 2, Bilston. Thursday 1st November 2007
The audience in The Robin 2 tonight are here to be delighted by Hazel O’Connor, famous for her appearance in ‘Breaking Glass’ way back when. Indeed, her appeal these days appears to be (excuse me for the Spinal Tap-ism) “more selective”. So, Timothy Parkes takes the stage to an audience who don’t really care who is on first. And he wins them over.
Opening with the obligatory, and strangely uplifting considering its subject matter, ‘Looks Like Rain’, Tim is on fire, not so much playing his acoustic as attacking it with a passion. Don’t get me wrong – he is not someone who should be playing an ‘axe’ tonight instead – the melody shines.
Through ‘Secret Girlfriend’ (now there’s a hit), ‘Witchcraft’ & ‘Holes’, the depth of Timothy’s songwriting impresses the audience, Tim only pausing in-between songs for warm banter & a quick change of his remarkably varied choice of tunings. Finishing an all too brief set with the beautiful ‘Goodbye’, he bids an alien audience au revoir to a full house of applause.
It can’t be too long now ‘til the rest of the country (the world?) catches on to Timothy Parkes. But, for now, I bet the next time he plays here it’s as a headliner. And then watch him fly…

If you ever had a jig with the ice queen of Muldovia, would you pass or break? If it was me I would meet her and drag her dance through the net of phantoms.
I've got to play at somebody's wedding in Brum on Saturday. I'd much rather come and heckle you! Boo hiss boo. I'll be there in spirit, have a good one matey.
It depends man. If you mean on my own, I could do 4 or 5 songs whenever Im not working. If you mean as a band, we probably need another few weeks to get some more material together so we can do a 3/4 of an hour set. Believe me, nobody wants us to gig more than I do!
