Timo Tolkki is one of the most respected guitar players in Heavy Rock scene with the sales of 2,5 million records, a Finnish Grammy and 3 Gold Discs with his band Stratovarius. In the the renowned American “Guitar World” magazine, Tolkki has been ranked the 27th fastest guitar player in the world, as well as placing 84th of the 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists of All Time.

He is the pioneer in creating a highly copied Stratovarius production sound producing all the Stratovarius albums. As an active producer with his own production company Goldenworks, his productions have sold more than 5 million copies worldwide.

Although being known mostly from his guitar/composing/production work in Stratovarius, Tolkki has also explored other musical genres in his 3 solo albums “Classical Variations and Themes” (1994), “Hymn to Life” (2002) and in his ethereal Rock Opera “Saana-Warrior of Light pt 1” (2008). He has also written several songs to other artists like to Finnish Idols winner “Ari Koivunen” to whom he wrote a song “Angels are calling”. The album subsequently sold triple platinium in Finland.

In 2008 Tolkki recorded an album called ”New Era” and named the project ”Revolution Renaissance”. This highly acclaimed melodic metal album includes performances from such legends as Michael Kiske and Tobias Sammet.

After that Tolkki formed a new band with the same name “Revolution Renaissance” that released an album called “Age of Aquarius” in March 2009.

Timo Tolkki's songwriting has left a Legacy which contributed 95% of Stratovarius material in 23 years he lead the band. Paradise, Season of Change, Father Time, Black Diamond, Hunting High and Low, Kiss of Judas and Forever among other songs have left Tolkki's trademark Stratovarius sound and songwriting in the history of melodic and symphonic power metal.

Tolkki is releasing his Autobiography “Hymn to Life-Entr'acte” in November 2009. The book is translated to seven languages.

He is also travelling around the world giving a Masterclass Guitar Workshop: “Guitar & Music Beyond Infinity” in which he talks about his unique view how music is connected to life and emotions. He also gives an insiders information about the world of music industry and where it is heading plus shares a lot of valuable knowledge from his 25 year career.
