Tim Sylvester

Bio:

Tim Sylvester is a Singer/Songwriter from Youngstown, NY. In 1994 he started as the lead singer of a Nirvana cover band, Anavrin (started the day Kurt Cobain was found dead). Just as Anavrin started writing their own songs the band broke up. Tim and close friend (and guitarist in Anavrin) Patrick Hodgins branched off and formed 666 Falling Angels which was later renamed Cynder. They were never able to find a drummer or bassist and Patrick's family eventually moved away. Tim continued to write songs on his own under the alias Cynder. In August 1995 Tim moved to Guangzhou, China for a year (which is where he got his first acoustic guitar as a gift, which he ended up leaving there with a friend). Since then, Tim's songs have been mainly written for acoustic guitar. Tim has continued to write and perform songs for his solo act ever since. In September 2003 Tim joined up with Tom Kula and Dave Bialas at Niagara University to form October Rising. Lonnie Reaves and Dan Leven joined the band shortly after. October Rising split up in summer of '06, but you can still hear some of the tracks on www.myspace.com/octoberrising. Since then, Tim has focused on his solo act.... Hi guys!
