Bassist Tim Thornton is a regular performer on the British jazz scene and graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire. He performs and has recorded with many different groups including the Steve Fishwick Quintet, Matt Fishwick Quartet, Dylan Howe Quartet, Emma Smith Quintet, Brandon Allen Quartet, Sector 7 and the Julian Bliss Septet. Tim has previously worked with Gareth Lockrane, Alex Garnett, Steve Brown, Matt Home, Tom Cawley, Enzo Zirilli, Tim Lapthorne, Dave O'Higgins, Sammy Mayne, Jim Watson, Jim Hart, Ivo Neame, Sam Crowe, Ross Stanley, Nick Smart, Kit Downes, Leon Greening, Brandon Allen, Mark Armstrong, Martin Shaw, Colin Oxley, Matt Skelton, Guy Barker, Sir Willard White, NYJO, to name a few. Tim performs at many venues across the world but can most likely be found playing around London at venues such as Ronnie Scott's, Pizza Express Jazz Club, RFH Foyer, Spice of Life, Oliver's or Charlie Wright's. I've grown up in a very musical family and always been exposed to great music, primarily influenced by Paul Chambers, Jimmy Garrison, Oscar Pettiford, Blanton, Dave Holland, Charles Mingus, Sam Jones, Joe Martin, Matt Penman, Scott Colley, Thomas Morgan, Chris Lightcap, Eivind Opsvik, Reid Anderson, Christian McBride, NHOP, Ray Brown, Ron Carter, Reggie Workman, Eric Reevis, Avishai Cohen, Larry Grenadier, Drew Gress, Gary Peacock, Charnett Moffet and of course Mark Hodgson and Arnie Somogyi on the bass side of things. More generally I'm influenced by Coltrane, Parker, Monk, Oscar Peterson, Jarret, Bill Evans, Dizzy, Freddie Hubbard, Art Blakey, McCoy, Rosenwinkel, Mark Turner, Orrin Evans, Dave Binney, Dan Weiss, Aaron Goldberg, Brad Mehldau, Jeff Ballard, Ethan Iverson, Jeff Williams, Seamus Blake, Branford, Tain, Blade, Wayne Shorter to name but a few. -

Wilma Rudolph was born prematurely at 4.5 lbs., the 20th of 22 siblings; Rudolph contracted infantile paralysis (caused by the polio virus) at age 4. She recovered, but wore a brace on her left leg and foot (which had become twisted as a result) until she was 9.
Wilma Rudolph was considered the FASTEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD in the 1960s and competed in two Olympic Games, in 1956 and in 1960.
In the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome Rudolph became the first American woman to win 3 GOLD MEDALS in track and field during a single Olympic Games.
