Tina Valen (real name - Valentina) was born in Severodonetsk in the eastern part of Ukraine. It’s here that she received her first introduction to music education (piano and music theory). In 2000 Tina moved to Kiev to work in sound production for movies.
At first Tina began working with Jazz-funk improvisations for vocal and jazz bands. "Discotime" on the Pesto Music label compilation became the first track to show Valen’s unmistakable talent for creating deep, sultry house music. This track proved a success for Tina and now she has several other projects in the works including a vinyl record to be released on the Young Society label and various other collaborations with both new and mature labels.
DJing: In 2000 Tina started her DJ career. Her experience of playing at different types of parties in different formats and directions made a huge influence on the development of her musical style. Her love for acid jazz, chill-out, funky house grew, in time, into a passion for deep house and deep techno. In 2007 Tina became a resident of legendary techno-club "Cinema" in Kiev.
Although Tina spends a lot of time in the studio she hasn’t forgotten about live music – from time to time she experiments and plays with "D.I.P." musicians (Deeply Important People).
Now Tina Valen is an accomplished artist who represents Ukraine on an international playground, working with world-class labels and artists from around the globe. The most important thing for Tina is her wish to make the world a better place through the help of music.
