.. Recently saw Joan As Policewoman for the first time - excellent gig! (Correction - have now seen them twice. Went to La Scala, London - even better gig!!!!)
Fab sounds, great chords, rhythms, beautiful voices!
Must mention local band Bizali - fab funky sounds!
Another fab gig - Pat Metheny. Check out this 'Pikasso' guitar made by Linda Manzer for him! Four necks. Two sound holes. 42 strings. Two access doors; one on the upper player's side and one at the tail block!

What's playing in my car: Joan As Police Woman....of course! | | Movies | CARRY ON FILMS! Old black & white films, especially Ealing Comedy or old wartime movies, PARIS TEXAS, AMELIE, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, NATIONAL LAMPOONS. Love comedy films or weepies. Don't like horror films - I'm too scared by them!
| | Television | Firstly anything with/written by PETER KAY!!!!! What a genius! But the biggest foxymorons at the moment are KATH & KIM! Zip your lips! - whatever that pacifically entails. What's not to loike? Think Sharon should have her own show too. 'I could've been anything,......if I'd had the talent'

Sharon: "Oh you know, the usual. Waited in my car and then went through his rubbish."
So apart from Peter Kay & Kath & Kim, I also like The Royal Family, Love reality TV, documentaries. Mind-numbing, time-wasting trashy stuff. The Hustle (desperately waiting for the new series!), QI, Have I Got News for You. & to balance up my favourites - The worst programme on TV has gotta be Deal or No Deal! What is that all about?!!!!
| | Books | Only really have time to read/look at arty books. Hardly ever read fiction. Currently working my way through a selection of books on Postmodernism, Walter Benjamin, Heidegger, Baudrillard etc.... which I'm actually enjoying!
A few of my favourite books: 'Vitamin D',The Art of Looking Sideways, The Bell Jar-Sylvia Plath.
Just read Tracey Emin's 'Strangeland' which was nice and easy to read! | | Heroes | uuuummmmm.....let me think......

David Hockney, Peter Kay - he is my God!!! Kath & Kim (& Sharon,) Eddie Izzard, Julie Andrews, k.d.Lang, Joan Rivers.....I don't know, this one's so hard. So many people, so many miles away......
Like down to earth-what-u-see-is-what-u-get sort of people. No hidden agenda/false/neurosis/self-obssessed types! Don't like show-offs or materialistic people. Don't like drama queens or negativity!
Love positive people with a sense of humour! Laughter is the elixir of life! Love people who smile a lot!
