About me:

I am a film maker. Mostly my interests are in dramatic fiction, specifically science fiction adventure stories. Mostly I've been working with editing and compositing... all sorts of film post-production and visual effects mostly centered on CGI effects.

I'm an ex ice hockey player, I played a little minor pro and coached kids as a job for a few years.

I like rpgs, movies, and video games. I like skating, but mostly as part of hockey.

I am an Atheist. I am interested in religion- but it has the same merit to me as Greek mythology or the like.

I have no interest in children of my own. That is not likely to change at this stage in my life.

I like other people's kids fine, but mostly because after some short time span they go away with their parents. That said I am great with kids. I love coaching hockey. Its fun to coach the higher levels, but its most rewarding to coach the little ones. They remember and they are thankful.

My screen name, tirgaya, is Elvish, specifically Quenya. That's "private" because it indicates my level of geekiness more than I like. So, being a geek, I am going to tell you about it.

Tirgaya is an agglutinated word of my own devising meaning, "the dread watcher." Tir means watcher. (like for example palantir) Gaya means awesome or dread.

In the movies and books most speaking and writing is in Sindarin Elvish. Quenya has about the same relation to Sindarin as Latin to Spanish.

In the movies the only time I recall anyone talking in Quenya was when Saruman cast the spell to "bring down the mountain" as the fellowship tried to cross Caradhras. (The scene when they almost drowned in snow.)

If you ask I can usually spout a few things in Elvish, but I speak poorly at best.
