About me:

The trick is to assume your life is going to work out. Of course it never does, so you do the next best thing: You take it one disaster at a time.

A word to those who'd like to "friend" me. I usually don't accept Friend Requests from random people. I'd like to put people in my friends list where I know who they are. Thus, if you'd like me to add you, leave me a note in your Friend Request about how we're connected. :o)

For anyone who's interested in my photography, here's the URL to my photo gallery.

Who I'd like to meet:

Les Moonves to kick his ass. My former boss to kick his ass as well. You can line up Harvey Weinstein right next to those two.

And Barbara Hall to pick her brain about what she had in store for Joan of Arcadia's third season.

And maybe Salvador Dalí to experience what a brilliant but insane genius he truly was.

Calling all Chris Marquette fans!

TeeJay's Chris Marquette Demo Reel
This would be Chris Marquette's demo reel if I had a choice in what would be in it. Enjoy 12 minutes of Chris at his best. (Please note that this is NOT Chris's official demo reel.)

Marshall is such a terrific guy. I had never met him in person but we'd corresponded via email. One of my best friends co-starred with him in his first film and we have a lot of mutual friends. I actually spent a couple of days with him. We got together on Saturday afternoon and I interviewed him and shot some informal pics. I'll be posting the audio when I get the chance. Then we got together before his screening yesterday. We sat together and hung out again afterwards. He had to leave early today, though. He's so sweet and so much fun to hang out with.
He's definitely done with Prison Break.

I have a ton more pictures of him from the screening and Q&A which I'll be posting when I get home.

I went to the World Premiere of Krabat. It was subtitled. As far as I know there are no films that are ever dubbed here at film festivals. I saw over 500 films since the start of 2006. About 3/4 were non-English-speaking films and all were subtitled, never dubbed.

What made it jump out at me initially was that Toronto is normally full of amazing films, and I'd seen about 5 or 6 before Krabat and had been very disappointed up to that point. So Krabat impressed me partly because it really stood out. I'm also a friend of the director so I guess I was a bit biased.

I never had the chance to review it but I got lots of pics at the Q&A. Daniel was there. I met him and we spoke for awhile. I think there is a picture of us on my picture pages.

Boy A was just the kind of film I go to festivals to find. Andrew Garfield is one of the best young actors I've seen lately.

American Son isn't a great movie and it just barely made my list but it was year of so-so films. In 2006 and 2007 there were films that just blew me away. That didn't happen too much this year.

There's way too many to list them all. Generally I like suspenseful novels (medical thrillers especially), but I also read lots of other stuff.

I'm currently reading Bill Bryson's Notes from a Big Country and Genome by Matt Ridley. And I'm still stuck in book 1 of The Chronicles Of Narnia. Wish the omnibus edition was a little more handy, so I could carry it around.

If I had to name one book that really impressed me, it would be Michael Ende's Neverending Story. If I had to name a second, it'd be Flowers For Algernon by Daniel Keyes.
  • Heroes

My heroes are people who live their dream, no matter what obstacles are thrown in their path. Sometimes I wish I had that kind of courage.
