Because of her mesmerizing performances, which consist of choreographies and freestyle, Tjarda is now collaborating with a lot of different DJ’s and dance-events. She has already succesfully performed national as well as international at Sziget, Sugar Factory, Mystic Grooves, Mysteryland, Project Mayhem, Jazz in Duketown, Supperclub, De Parade, Nataraj, Paradiso, Melkweg, RASA, All is One, Tivoli De Helling, etc.
In 2005 Tjarda became a founding member and choreographer of The Uzumé. They began as the first company in the Netherlands representing Tribal Fusion Bellydance. They are now well-known for their innovative choreographic style and charismatic stage presence. They already won several prices one for Best Dance Company - Cross-Over Oriental Choreography.
Freestyle performances to electro (clash/pop), breakbeat, breakcore, tekno, drum 'n bass, industrial, goa, funk, (dark) ambient, danceclash, grime, dubstep, hip hop, techno, rock, (nu-)jazz, minimal, trance, global grooves, latin, new folk, balkan, asian and oriental underground, klezmer, etc.
Tjarda is a powerful dancer with a unique approach to bellydance. Next to exploring middle eastern dance, Tjarda has studied many other genres of dance. Ranging from modern dance, flamenco and mime to dance therapy and improvised movement. Fusing all of the above with her natural creativity, Tjarda delivers progressive choreography. Pieces of personal expression, resonating within a world wide culture of movement.
Currently Tjarda is studying at the school for International Dance / Worlddance in Rotterdam.
She is now teaching weekly classes in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Rotterdam. She also teaches workshops in the Netherlands and throughout Europe.
