anything from british and american rock (late 60's onwards) through singer songwriter, to modern indie, past some vintage soul, tiptoeing through the odd bit of prog, mozying on through good old fashioned sing-a-long-when-your-hammered pop music and out the other side. Sounds Like
The sound of a musician being thrown down a flight of stairs.
I'd like to think i sound a little bit like some of my influences, obviously having listened to them incessently for a long period of time you pick up traits and probably chord changes that they use, and i guess i learnt everything (which admittedly isnt a great deal!) about use of rythm and timing and texture from these artists. I basically try to take my favourite bits from these influences to hopefully make a not too distasteful racket!
started playing guitar a few years back, mainly strumming away in my old room at my parents house, playing a bewildering mix of british and american rock before everyone went to bed, and acoustic music afterwards. Started playing with the Unforgiven in May 2007 playing mostly classic rock covers. Started writing late 2007 (oddly coinciding with my choice to find a flat where i could make as much noise as i liked!) on the acoustic and harmonica. Currently writing new material all the time (hopefully some of it will appear on here shortly) as well as playing with Gun Metal Blue, playing Rock, punk and new wave (Deep purple, led zeppelin, free, motorhead, the buzzcocks, the stranglers and jimi hendrix all currently reside within our setlist, check out the Gun Metal Blue myspace for details) as well as gigging intermittedly with the Unforgiven (basically when we can be arsed!) also available for dep work and have also been known to give the odd guitar lesson in my time!
