My History
Started training in the martial arts on March 14, 1973. I earned my 1st Degree Black Belt on October 3, 1975 under Grand Master Harold Lee Hankins, 8th Dan, of the Authentic Karate Club and founder of the 35th Street Karate System. I currently hold 6th Degree Black Belt and serve as Director of Instructors under Grand Master Hankins. I officially opened Jack Dark Tae Kwon Do Champions, Inc. in August 1994, and I server as primary instructor in Tae Kwon Do, Moo Duk Kwan, Tang Soo Do.
I have trained in multiple different styles of martial arts.
--Yo Shin Kan Akido, Sei Shin Kai Karate-do with Soki Shiyogo Kuniba
--Wing Chung Kung-Fu with Duncan Leung and David Meadows
--Hapkido with Master Ron Cannon
--Okinawan Budo with Mater George Epps
Presently a Master in Haidong Gumdo under Master Dong Jin Park, USA Haidong Gumdo President. I was inducted into the 2004 Martial Arts Alliance Hall of Fame (Martial Artist of the Year), and I was also inducted into the 2006 American Freestyle Karate Association Hall of Fame (Oustanding Martial Artist of the Year). I am currently Senior Grand Champion of several tournaments throughout the state of Virginia, with over 400 1st through 4th place trophies to date.
