Alcohol-fuelled ranting, smoker's morning, foul-mouthed women on the street, money, STDs, politics, great enemies and awful friends, exes, sexes, waxes, taxes, haircuts, porn, friendships, hostilities, prostitution, classless girls with shit boyfriends, underclass cultures, God, and Nick Drake as if he had found Pearl Jam while on a mild jazz-funk acid trip with John Mayall...

"...a real groove that just drew you in and made time pass in a stoned, watch the clouds passing by kind of way..." Kevin Hewick on Acoustic Soda's performance at Comfort Zone, Firebug, Aug 2006
After a year of developing his acoustic songwriting and guitar style, Vitriol I.D. bassist Phillip Eldridge-Smith has made a small but viciously seductive wave on the Leicester solo performance music scene. His mix of subjective observation, spiteful emotion and biographical exploration, a hint of self-deprecation and an honest guitar style is making some sort of mark in an as ever popular and talented music community. He has played bills alongside gifted and reknowned musicians such as Didier Souchon, Kevin Hewick, Rai Studley, and Ben Thomas to name a few. Comparisons nowadays range from Eddie Vedder to Jack Bruce and Francis Dunnery. So, sit back with a cold beer, light up a fatty boombatty, and enjoy.
As you may or may not be aware SoundARC hold a charity gig every year at Club 85 in Hitchin in aid of the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, and this year we are going to try something a little different from previous years.
This year we are going to take over the club and host 37 acts in one weekend putting full bands upstairs and acoustic acts downstairs in an event that we are calling ARCfest!
It all starts on Friday 4th December at 7pm and then continues on through Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th from 12pm-11pm
As well as raising money for the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, ARCfest will showcase all the different genres of bands that we at SoundARC have come across over the last 4 and a half years. Over this weekend a lot of the acts that you will see don’t get a chance to play a great local venue like Club 85, So as well as hearing new music you will see all manors of genres and styles from acoustic - Metal - Indie - Rock - Punk - Electro - Ska - Funk - Hip Hop/Rap - Alternative - Rhythm & Blues - Reggae - Grunge and loads more that I cant remember!

Hey sweetie, YAY for TLF: Acoustic Soda. Yours and Risto's set was possibly the best i've seen ya. Worry not about the 'odd' organisation - all adds to part of The Sun experience. Kinda like those nasty midges in your baked beans when you're camping in Wales. Extra vitamins xxx Rai
