About me: The Texas Martial Arts Hall of Fame was founded by Danny Passmore in Waco, Texas. Mr. Passmore's dream was to preserve the history of all martial arts practiced in Texas as well as the outstanding individuals who pioneered the way for future generations.
The Texas Martial Arts Hall of Fame was the first hof in the United States to have a display erected for public viewing in a museum setting. A permanent display is being negotiated to be housed in the famous Texas Sports Hall of Fame located next door to the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame off of I35 in Waco.
The official Texas Martial Arts Hall of Fame website is www.tmahof.org. Here, viewers can visit the personal pages of Texas Martial Art legends which tell the stories of their accomplishments and current endeavors.
The Texas Martial Arts Hall of Fame recognizes, but DOES NOT ENDORSE any martial artist, style, organization or event.
An official podcast for interviews has also now been established. It's entitled Martial Art Masters of Texas and can be reached by a link on the hall of fame website.

This weekend on April 19th 2008, Larry Caster will be inducted into the Texas Martial Arts Hall Of Fame. The induction ceremony and banquet will be held at Joe T Garcia’s in Fort Worth Texas. The celebration will begin at 7:00pm and the legendary who’s who of American karate will be in attendance.
Larry Caster is an integral part of Texas karate and indeed that of the United States. Mr. Caster began his martial arts training in 1959 on the East Cost in hard style Chinese Kempo while in the US Navy. He completed his black belt in TaeKwonDo under the aegis of Allen R. Steen in 1966.
His tournament matches with Joe Lewis, Jim Harrison, Fred Wren and Rodger Carpenter are the “stuff” of martial arts legends. As successful as he was as a fighter, his accomplishments as a teacher and coach are almost unequaled.
Larry Caster coached U.S. and world Karate Champions Joy Turberville, Phil Wilemon, Ishmael Robles, Roy Kurban, Billy Jackson, Raymond McMallum and Demetrius Havanas. Larry Caster assumed a leadership role in coaching the new sport when full contact karate “hit the scene”. When Chuck Norris founded the National Karate League (NKL) in 1974, Larry Caster was the choice to head a contingent of kick boxers from Texas. His Dallas Fort Worth Texans was the only team to defeat the highly touted Los Angeles All Stars
Under Larry Caster’s guidance, Ishmael Robles, Billy Jackson and Raymond McCallum captured World Championships. During the 1980’s, Larry Caster was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Karate International Council of Kickboxing (KICK). For twelve years he trained judges and referees, and served as liaison between KICK and the National boxing commissions. He was involved in all aspects of the sport, assisting athletes, coaches, and promoters.
Somehow, in his spare time, Mr. Caster founded an Amateur Kickboxing Organization and promoted his own events. Larry Caster is considered one of the most influenc

THE ART OF KINJIRU SCORPION FREESTYLE FIGHTING METHOD, TEACHES ITS STUDENTS CERTAIN PRINCIPLES AND GUIDELINES. BEYOND THAT, THE ART EVOLVES MORE ON A PERSONAL LEVEL. THEREFORE, IT IS DIFFERENT FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL. WHICH, MEANS THAT IT IS TAILORED TO AND FOR THE INDIVIDUAL. THERE'S NO MYSTERY ! THAT'S THE SIMPLICITY THAT LIES BEHIND THE ART OF 'KINJIRU'.
Thanks for the add. Many of my fondest martial arts memories originate in Texas. Earning a Black Belt from Mr. Al Francis. The opportunity to train with all time greats like Ray McCallum, Ishmael Robles, Roy Kurbin & Linda Dentley. Becoming friends and fighting against Tim Kirby and many others. Wow! The 70's & 80's was an awesome time to be a Texas Black Belt. I miss those days for sure.
Just dropping By To Say Hi. I Hope Everything Is Going Good For You Guys. And Thank You For Having This Hall Of Fame We Needed Something Like This For Us Martial Artist. Again Thank You.
