Toad's Place Richmond is a live music venue located in the Historic Ladybird Hat Building at 140 Virginia Street in Richmond, VA. Toads Place Richmond opened in June 2007 on the Canal Walk in Downtown Richmond’s Historic Entertainment District to rave reviews; in less than a year we've feautured a wide range of events including national and regional touring artists of every genre, fashion shows, charity events, private parties, festivals, comedy acts, local band showcases, dance nights, afterparties... you name it! Why Toad's Place? Toad’s Place has some serious history behind it!!! The original Toad’s Place, located in New Haven,CT gained national fame when the Rolling Stones chose it to kick off their 1989 Steel Wheels tour, U2 started off their first American tour there and Bob Dylan played a famous 4 hour concert. Why Richmond? Boasting a total capacity of over 1400, Toad's Place of Richmond is currently the only mid-size music venue in the area. From the huge Main Floor (home to a 50’ x 40’ stage); to the intimate Mezzanine Level and the private skyboxes on the third level, Toad's Place is a truly unique space, which makes for an awesome concert experience as well as a one-of-a-kind event space. In Spring 2008 the patio will be open on the Canal, so concertgoers can relax and have dinner on the canal before the night begins.
