The Best Sounding Open Mic in Denver!
Every Tuesday evening, from 8pm to midnight, the Toad Tavern hosts an open stage featuring a wide variety of local musicians. All open mic events are 21+ and are free to attend. There is professional sound support, so full bands are welcome. These nights are a great opportunity to play on the Toad's stage and build performing chops. CD or DVD recording is available for only $10 (or $15 for both).
This page is a way for past, present, and future open mic faithful to connect and keep up with what's happening. As most know, I fully support advanced sign-ups. Book yourself in advance so you have time to hype the show to your friends. It's a lot more fun when your friends are there to cheer you on! People who take this aspect of live performing seriously will definitely be rewarded for their efforts.
We are lucky enough to have a drum kit backlined thanks to Po Boy drums. All drummers must use this kit (bringing a snare, kick pedal, and cymbals is advised). All the bands need to bring are amps and guitars (and whatever else you have instrument-wise)...and all the acoustic performers need to bring are their axes...we have plenty of DIs.
The sets are generally 25-30 minutes in length, however things are very flexible and we make it work. Due to generally high demand for stage time, the same act cannot play consecutive weeks.
