Tobias Sammet became well known amongst Rock fans all over the world as the singer and songwriter of Edguy. Having sold over one million CDs Edguy is one of the biggest internationally acclaimed German Rock bands in recent music history. They have headlined several tours in more than 35 countries all over North- and South America, Australia, Asia and Europe and shared the stage with the likes of Aerosmith, the Scorpions or Iron Maiden. In 1999 Tobias started his own side project "Avantasia" which quite unexpectedly even exceeded his main band at the time.

And now the the project of projects is back: "Avantasia - The Scarecrow" out on January 25th 2008, featuring producer Sascha Paeth on guitars, Eric Singer of KISS on drums and an army of guest stars like Bob Catley (Magnum), Alice Cooper, Michael Kiske (ex-Helloween), Rudolf Schenker (Scorpions), Kai Hansen (ex-Helloween, Gamma Ray) and many more. First press reactions span from "a walking orgasm" to "these guys are playing in their own league" to "by far the best release of Avantasia to date".
