Tobias Valdez has been involved with various forms of music from a young age. He has dreamed of being on stage in front of crowds since his childhood. In high school, his dream became a reality as he was a featured vocalist for an evening at Falls Creek Baptist Youth Camp in front of 6,000 students and youth workers. During that same week, Tobias also made his way around several other cabins of the camp singing and sharing his testimony of how God had raised him up from brain injuries he suffered as a toddler from a drunk driver's impact on his family's vehicle. It was during that week that Tobias realized that the numbers of people didn't matter. He knew he was made to help bring others into a life of following and worshiping Jesus .
A NEW FOCUS:
In 1996, with a new focus, Tobias began learning the guitar and piano and writing music based on his own life experiences. Now bent on bringing others to know the One he worshiped, Tobias began traveling across the state of Oklahoma with the BSU Road Crew of S.W.O.S.U., as well as leading worship for various events and churches. He has led worship for youth camps, singles retreats, college bible studies, corporate worship events, and more. He has also served in various churches as worship pastor, youth pastor, youth intern, and pastor of student ministries.
Tobias has also been a part of three mission trips working with Native Americans, one at Talequah, OK, with the Cherokee Nation and the other two times at Counselor, NM and Montezuma Creek, UT, with the Navajo Nation.
CURRENTLY:
Tobias has had a lifelong dream of recording the songs that are born out of his life experiences to share with others. At long last, that dream is becoming a reality with the release of his first independent CD, Another Day, in February 2009.
AVAILABILITY:
Tobias is available to lead worship or present his music as a special service, for all ages and groups. In conjunction with traveling as a worship leader, he does hold a full-time job, so dates of availability are subject to approval. Tobias currently has no set price, but does ask for a "love offering" from your church/group along with the opportunity to sell his CDs at the event(s) he will be participating in. He does ask for your church/group to cover his travel expenses along with food and lodging if he is asked to travel longer distances or stay over night. He will gladly stay with church/group members who are willing to open their home to him and will gladly eat anything the pastors/leaders will also agree to eat.

"I can truthfully say that every single time I sat under Tobias as he led praise and worship, I felt God. Not like a chill, or a tingling down my spine, but as a presence that had just entered the room because the leader of worship had proven to God that He was welcome in that place." - Rev. Jason Frazier, Crossroads Church Greenville, TX
Saw ya at Walmart! Gonna see ya at the game? Hope you all are doin great. Don't see most of the youth folks since we moved up to college and TDY folks. What have you and your family been up to lately? Need to have a family and ministry workers volleyball game. There is a court now on the other side of the college/young adult house. We have night lights as well. Braums after the game is required. Think about it.
ha - yes --- the Jennifer Knapp days. :) Doing great here! We're still up in KY and looks like we may stay put for a while here. We'll see! Baby #3 (a girl!) will be here in 3 short months and my oldest started Kindergarten! Ahh! Life is full!! How is the Valdez family?
Slowly adjusting to residency. It's really not all that bad. Night float is the worst. Don't see Tom but for a few minutes a day. That's hard. He is back on a more normal schedule now, thank goodness!
