Blues and jazz supporters from far and wide have spent the past ten years enjoying one of Roanoke’s finest festivals –the Taste of the Blue Ridge Blues & Jazz Festival. After much thought the decision was made after the 2006 festival to take the event in a new direction. The festival would showcase strictly upbeat blues entertainment and would now incorporate a rib cook-off. The goal of the Big Lick Blues festival is to highlight the same world-class entertainment and signature Roanoke cuisine that has been represented through TOBRbut in a relaxed fun and high-energy atmosphere.
