www.TodayinAustin.com is a fun way to find out what's happening each day in the beautiful city of Austin, TX. We subscribe to dozens of blogs by Austin businesses, magazines, radio & television, as well as art and community organizations. When we see a post about an event, we re-publish it, sorted into Today's Events, Planning Ahead, and eighteen more specific categories. We also subscribe to Google Calendars maintained by these groups.
So how are we different from every other online magazine?
We provide entertainment information in feed formats. This means that there are many flexible ways for you to receive them. Select your favorite entertainment categories and then discover how to enjoy RSS feeds in your personal 'in-box' widget, reader, calendar or mobile device.
Think of it as MySpace OUTSIDE of MySpace so that everyone else, who doesn't belong to MySpace, can get the same type of blog/calendar information.
All you do is make your own free blog (www.blogger.com) and/or calendar (Google Calendar). Then send me the URL of the blog or calendar.
I select and help syndicate only descriptions of events from established non-profit art organizations and bricks-and-mortar businesses. You should limit your calendar or blog items to the best 2 -4 single performance or business events each week. That's what I could handle for you and re-publish. Or you can publish once a year. There is no pressure to be prolific!
Please check out my site at: www.TodayinAustin.com. It offers "cooperative advertising" for our local art and business organizations. So if you like it, and participate, then we need for you to help us get the word out. I have postcards that I can drop off at your establishment, and maybe you'd give us a link from your web site. That's how we would create a network of "friends" just like in MySpace.
It's an idea. I hope that you like it. Please feel free to contact me
