Todayokay plays songs from a new, weird America where the boundaries between indie-rock, folk, chamber music, and hip-hop blur and bleed. Building from Matt McLean's insistent finger-picked guitar lines and world-weary lyrics, the band creates lyrical string arrangements and intricate four-part harmonies. Nimble electric leads and restrained drums add to a lush sound that finds the common threads in influences as disparate as The Dodos, Shearwater, and Nick Drake.
