Todd Sawyer

About me:

Originally from a small town in the Northwest, Sawyer began his stand-up comedy career in Seattle in 1989. Todd has performed all over the world, from the comedy clubs in England to the most famous stages in America (Caroline’s, The Improv, Catch a Rising Star). Sawyer’s act has been seen on television, cruise ships, college campuses, and USO tours entertaining the troops.

Laced with his sardonic dark side and twinkle in his eye, Sawyer’s original stories are based on his life’s ups and downs. From being a bull rider on the junior rodeo circuit to his inability to become a fully functioning adult, his unique stories are revealing and funny. Todd is currently touring with Ron White on the “Behavioral Problems Tour”.

An avid sports fan, Sawyer spends his free time playing golf and basketball. He lives in Los Angeles.

here is my all time favorite review of one of my sets. It was from a show in Bath, England at college pub. Steve Williams/ Todd Sawyer/ Die Clatterschenkenfi 09 October 2005 The Comedy Cavern One of the best comedy nights I’ve been to this year… 39-year old L.A-born Todd Sawyer was a curious guy with an understated delivery. He had some nice lines about British trains, blind people at the movies, and the Scots (“everyone loves them and they f**king hate everyone else!”) but the main part of his set took us on a faintly disturbing journey through the miseries of aging and failure, with particular reference to his shattered dreams of professional basketball glory and the breakdown of his marriage. Comedians frequently talk about gender, sex, and cohabitation but Sawyer really gives the impression of living the life and feeling it crumble. At some points Sawyer seemed concerned that the audience was too young to appreciate what he was saying (“I feel like a crazy uncle!”) but he went off to a very strong round of applause.
