Todd Matherne

Todd Matherne at the age of 12 found interest in playing guitar and harmonica. Inspired by his grandfather who he looked up to and had the oppurtunity to spend quality time on the weekends while his grandmother would spend 45's of ole country, swamp pop and 50's rock n roll. He quickly became inspired to play country music and study the styles of Willie Nelson, Jerry Reed and Merle Haggard. Growing up as a young teenager in the 80's he was introduced to several legacies of both rock, metal and blues.

He quickly began to study the styles of the legendary Jimi Hendrix and to this day still rates him as one of the most influentual guitarist of all. You can hear the diversity in Todd's style throughout the night as he shows his talent in his ability to change styles to accomodate the song.

Todd joined his first band in Delaware named Country Connection at the age of 24 while serving active duty in the Air Force. He later played for another local band One Way Country. After getting out of the service he continued his music education playing in Louisiana local bands including the Time Machine, Double Take, The Jerad Perck Band, Raymond Easterly, Billboard and now Kaitlyn Courville band and acoustic duo/trio. Todd has also played accompanying tracks on two recent Kenny Fife CD's recorded at John Folse's Digital Studio. Todd is an active guitarist performing acoustically and electrically.

He continues to study various forms of music including jazz swing guitar of the early 40's and 50's. He's recently introduced a new instrument to his repertoire, the fiddle. Todd and Kaitlyn are also available for acoustical performances for weddings and other private occassions.
