Todd Steed is originally from Knoxville and has never escaped,… completely. After years of touring and recording with Smokin’ Dave, Opposable Thumbs, and also Apelife, Steed has now happily settled in with his current lineup, Todd Steed and the Suns of Phere.
The new record, ESKIMO HAIR, is a tour de force of SONGS SONGS SONGS- many going in directions that are new for the Suns and even more eclectic than the last outing, Heart Break And Duct Tape. Many look outward, more look inward, and some look hard and close at the USA as it stands today.
That's a lot of what Knoxville Tells was about. You just got to make peace with where you are and who you are. Or not,
The band is usually:
TODD STEED/ ED RICHARDSON/ DAVE NICHOLS/ BOB DECK- add one JEFF BILLS if it's electric.
On the new recording guests include: Hector Qirko, Tim Lee, Elodie Lafont, Jon Whitlock, Don Coffey Jr, and many many more.
Todd Steed and the Suns of Phere's Friend Space (Top 16)
Todd Steed and the Suns of Phere has 1112 friends.
Always welcome! Ye wudnie want paid, laddies, wud ye? Bob ps If you missed the cultural reference there, may I refer you to a million jokes on the lines of: Taxi disaster in Scotland! Thousands killed! or: Here lies a good husband, a good father, and a good workmate. These Scotsmen! Three men in one grave!
Hi everybody, We've finally moved the repair workshop from Jamaica Street to Otago Street in Glasgow's West End. We'll be open for business again on the 21st of June. Check the website for more details. Thanks for all the support,
What a wild assortment! Country jazz to apocalyptic pop (the scabies line killed me!). Nice biting comment about the absent President too. What a lot of talent comes out of knoxville - truly the new Nashville (or should that be New York?) I saw RB and Hector Q here in Glasgow on Friday - pioneering the way for a Knoxville invasion! (although they were complaining a little about liver sabotage in Ireland and someone called O'Hanlon who is apparently an advocate of whisky therapy:)) You guys should come over too! All the best, Bob

Drawn back through the Sahara Vortex: * The Tunisian polar bear
Note: The animal could have been deliberately moved to the desert via the Vortex for acclimatization tests, or it may have been 'sucked' through by accident - perhaps when the Vortex opened for the Nigerian Beechcraft. The evidence here is just too much to deny. Worthy of more insight.
