New Fifty Foot Hose CD!

http://anthologyrecordings.com/release.asp?album=FOgIMVzZlkK

Recorded: live on March 16, 2003 at the Beta Lounge in San Francisco

In 1967, San Francisco’s Fifty Foot Hose were certainly one of the innovators of a sound that took Psychedelia to new heights and was captured on the band’s one record, Cauldron. They are a totally unique hybrid—on one hand pulsating bay area acid rock, on the other, fractured electronic freakery, becoming one whole cohesive being. The sci-fi-ish video game-like artwork hinted at the sounds within, as did the Limelight label’s pedigree for truly progressive sounds. Band leader, Cork Marcheschi, used homemade electronic devices to create crude and experimental soundscapes and instrumental compositions that were sprinkled throughout the album.

Often starting shows with a swelling rumble that exploded into the first song, they soon developed a rabid following on the SF scene, though there was the occasional totally wrong gig, like when a very-pregnant Nancy had to perform at a Catholic Girls’ school! Still, the group wowed the crowds, performing with greats like Chuck Berry and Fairport Convention.

"Sharing my art makes my heart feel good. It's a way, too, of letting people know that I have not been conquered by the oppressor even though I have spent so many years in these iron lodges. It's a way to say thank you for all the people's support. It's a way of letting them know that their prayers are strong." ~ Leonard Peltier

Leonard donates his paintings to his defense committee to help support efforts to win his freedom. This is a critical time for Leonard and for the LPDOC. We need to do everything in our power to see that Leonard is released. With this work in progress we also need funds to continue. Peltier paintings also have been given as gifts and donated to help other organizations raise funds. Leonard Peltier donates his paintings to the LP-DOC to help raise funds for his defense. The paintings are available for purchase.
..
To inquire about the purchase of Peltier art work and conditions of sale, please call 701/235-2206 or send an e-mail

Please visit www.whoisleonardpeltier.info to learn about Leonard!! Have a great day! Blessings!

"sit by the campfires that brightly burn
listen to the crickets that sing in turn
contemplate existence for thoughts to unlearn
teach others for yourself to discern
finding strength is born of failure
giving not to seek return
maybe love is just given
maybe also it is something you earn"
