Toecutter have been together since May '08 and have played a number of gigs across Scotland in this time. More importantly however, Toecutter have chosen to devote most of the last year to honing their set and discarding any superfluous material, leaving them with a somewhat unique and uncompromising sound with all unnecessary layers peeled back. Currently undergoing a line-up adjustment, they have entrenched themselves in the studio to work on exciting new ideas, before looking to continue live performances early 2010.
Musically, influences range from Metallica & System of a Down through Reuben, Nirvana and Biffy Clyro to the likes of the Misfits, Ramones and Danzig. With lyrical inspiration coming from novelists such as Clive Barker, Neil Gaiman, John Connelly, Conrad Williams and Lovecraft. As well as contemporary and gothic horror cinema.
