    To Feel Stuff's Interests
GeneralInto: switching shampoos regularly; looking through the girlie magazines that the doctors leave on the fireplace; sleeping; drinking Coke first thing in the morning; reading the STD pamphlets in the pharmacy waiting room; getting first dibs on pharmaceutical gifts; macaroni and cheese.

Not into: Psychology majors who get analytical in bed; nausea; lingering pain; being stuck in one place for a long time; latex gloves made into balloon turkeys; sympathy; Chicken Kiev.

Music"Elodie" by David Mead because it's like it was written about me. I'm also a big Morrissey fan and sometimes consider "Girlfriend in a Coma" my personal theme.
MoviesI can't remember the last time I set foot in a movie theater. Sometimes the nurse practitioners roll a TV into the infirmary and we watch the long forgotten movies that come on at 2 a.m.
TelevisionFor awhile, I was watching a lot of the Home Shopping Network. There was a redheaded host I particularly liked, and I enjoyed watching her trying to sell me strands of pearls. But I would never wear them.
BooksLike The Red Panda by Andrea Seigel.
HeroesI don't believe in the concept of heroes. People are just people, and if you make them more than that, you're not seeing them fairly.

About me:
My name is Elodie Harrington. I am in the book you see to your left, but those are not my hands on the cover. Mine are less blue (usually, although they are sometimes blue). Also, bigger. I live in the Brown University infirmary and have been there so long that I'm thinking I should buy one of those Craftmatic adjustable beds I keep seeing on TV. That way I could go up down, up down, up down all day long, and it could half-count as exercising. The reason for the infirmary is that illnesses seem to get crushes on me. Then they don't want to leave. But I have a crush on an a capella singer right now, and don't want to leave either, so I understand the feeling. Lately, I think I've been seeing a ghost, but he always leaves quickly, turning into glowy dust. I appreciate that he's not one of those "people" who overstays his welcome, but there are a couple questions I wish he'd stay still to answer.

Get this video and more at MySpace.com

Who I'd like to meet:
(Technically, I'd like to re-meet) the girl with the excessively bloody nose who stayed in the infirmary awhile ago; doctors who know what they're doing but keep their distance; the people who think up the slogans for prescription medications; the ghost as a live kid; anybody who owns a waffle iron; readers of Like The Red Panda.

You rock, Elodie. If I wasn't freaked out by sick people, and I didn't hate hospitals so much, I would totally be crushing on you.

Hi, To Feel Stuff,

I don't think it's a coincidence that on the night I finished reading this amazing novel about empathy and illness, I came down with a fever and a cough. That's powerful stuff.

Your dance routine video was seriously the best thing I've seen all week.

For some reason when you said "dance routine" I didn't think you meant an actual dance routince. Dancing, yes. Routine, no. You're fearless!

The dance routine was awesome! I could never pull off doing something like that totally straight. I wish I could make it to one of the readings.
