About me:

Hello children

TOFFEE SUNDAY SMASH is a weekly one hour podcast/radio show celebrating late 1960s UK underground pop and psychedelic music. It can be listened to online or downloaded onto a portable device and taken to the shops with you just in case you have a hankering for some Mike Stuart Span while you're choosing your clementines. Named as a homage to the pioneering 1980s fanzine, the show hopes to delve into the weird, wide-eyed and wonderful world of bands like Kaleidoscope, Timebox, Blossom Toes, Tomorrow, The Mirage, Turquoise and their glorious ilk. We may love The Beatles and The Floyd but you won’t hear them here. Each show will feature regular spots including a spotlight album, a classic double-header single and a look back at the releases this month in years gone by. We’re also at www.myspace.com/toffeesundaysmash where we’ll post regular bulletins with playlists and what’s happening on the show. So whether you’re at home, on a train or flying through a lemonade sky on the back of a giant butterfly, close your eyes and dig the pretty colours...

Andy

Pop Music Lovers of the United Kingdom!

Nick Leese of Heyday Mail Order has made it easy for you to order my latest cd, A Song for Me, A Song for You within your own home nation!  Visit his website, the self-described “home of specialist music delights….from around the globe” and purchase at once.

Need convincing? Read the following review from Aaron Kupferberg’s Powerpopaholic blog:

“Scott writes sweet melodic piano pop in the tradition of the 60's and 70's with a Tin Pan Alley touch. The title track is an intro to "This Little Samba" a bossa nova beat driven tune that recalls those light Burt Bacharach songs with a wry humor about a wandering mojo. Todd Rundgren fans will surely appreciate the bouncy "The First Assault Upon My Day" which sounds like it fell off of Something/Anything. Scott's diverse influences are both immediate and enjoyable. The wonderful "Real Estate" shows off some excellent arrangements that recall mid 70's McCartney with true affection.  Even with the hilarious ending song "Start the Day" you can't help think of Brian Wilson in the sandbox making up the words as he goes along.” (on CD).

There is an international flavour to our next date with the fuzz. From Leicester ride The Junipers, bringing expertly crafted pop-sike to melt your heart and soothe your mind. In support are Funny Dunny from the south of Italy, who play revved-up garage-punk to make you dance and scream, and finally Londoners Thee Landells provide us with hypnotic blasts of understated punkadelica.

You’re in for a treat with the guest DJs - vinyl obsessive Jens (aka Wickerman) comes from deepest Sweden to freak you out on the dancefloor, whilst Sardinian and Caper Story bassist Claudio supplies the blue-eyed soul and eurobeat goodness.
