Tokio Hotel es un grupo musical juvenil alemán de pop-rock
formado por el vocalista Bill Kaulitz, el guitarrista Tom Kaulitz,
el bajista Georg Listing y el baterista Gustav Schäfer.
El grupo fue fundado en 2001 bajo el nombre de Devilish
(Diabólico), que luego cambió a Tokio Hotel tras fichar en 2003
por Sony. El primer álbum se editó finalmente en 2005,
tras firmar con la discográfica Universal. Este disco alcanzó
ventas de varios millones de discos sólo en Alemania
aumentando su éxito que se extendió pronto por todo Europa.
Con 9 discos de platino y cuatro de oro en Alemania, son la banda
nacional más exitosa. Además, cuentan con cuatro discos
de oro adicionales por las ventas en Austria y Suiza.
Este primer álbum, Schrei (Grita), y el tercero, Zimmer 483
(Habitación 483), publicado en 2007 se han refundido
en un solo álbum, "Scream", con canciones en inglés
especialmente diseñadas para el público anglosajón. En 2007
el grupo vendió alrededor de un millón y medio de álbumes,
y su fama se logró expander inclusive por toda América,
ganando uno de los VMA's a "Mejor Atista Nuevo", y también
4 "lenguas" de los MTV Latinos, alcanzando así el éxito
con su sencillo "Scream" en Norteamérica y Latinoamérica ^^

Bill Kaulitz Trümper es el vocalista y líder del grupo, y es
hermano gemelo del guitarrista del mismo, Tom Kaulitz.
Bill escribe la mayoría de las canciones de Tokio Hotel,
tenía apenas siete años de edad cuando empezó a componer.

La estética del grupo no es nada homogénea, ya que va desde
el estilo andrógino e indefinido del vocalista Bill Kaulitz,
a las nuevas corrientes del Visual Kei, hasta la del guitarrista
Tom Kaulitz, asociada a la cultura hip-hop y también del rasta.

Jay Gordon came to the aid of the production - he is known for being singer
in Orgy, but as a producer for Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit or Korn too.
The album was mixed by Sylvia Massy Shivy (System Of A Down, Tool, Slayer)
and John Fryer (Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, HIM, Cradle Of Filth) who were
easy and nice to work with.
Chris Pohl took the microphone for the song "Haus der Lüge" (German
for "House Of A Lie") and made it to the hottest cover song ever (original
by "Einstürzende Neubauten")!
