The name of Custy is synonymous with Clare fiddle music, and the fiddle playing of Tola Custy is one reason for that.
Tóla is one of the most famous performers, composers and recording artist that Irish music has to offer. Tóla recorded his first solo album in 1994. This album recieved rave reviews in magazines world wide.
In 1995 Tola, along with Pat Marsh, Dirmusid and Donnacha formed the well known band "Calico". They recorded two cds and toured the world as a result.
Outside of playing with Calico Tola has recorded and performed with Mirella Murray, Flook, Padraig Rynne. Alan Kelly and his band, Arty Mcglynn, Heidi Talbot, Pauline Scanlon, Grada, Chara, just to name a few. These names show the high respect at which Tola is regarded by his fellow musicians. He is one of Irish musics busiest performers at the moment. His compositions are also used as much and can be heard in sessions, albums and performances throughout the Irish music industry.
