The Tol-Puddle Martyrs, the second incarnation of Peter & the Silhouettes (Claudette Jones), produced some of the rarest and most sought after recordings from the killer 60s punk period.
Peter & the Silhouettes:
Peter Rechter organ/vox
Kevin Clancy lead guitar/vox
Keiran Keogh bass guitar

The Martyrs developed a huge cult following in Central & Northern Victoria in the 60s with their wild and raucous fuzz guitar/organ drenched material.
Ian McFarlane, renowned Australian rock historian writes : The moody, magnificent Time Will Come is certainly one of the great Aussie psychedelic recordings; an enigmatic, organ drenched trip that still sounds amazing today.

The more I listen to A Celebrated Man, the more I realize what a perfect spit and polish work this recording truly is! Alas, you've about outdone yourself Peter! This album ROCKS! This holds up with the best of the best! Steady cool and, STEADY ON!!!

Hi, Peter! Haven't heard from you guys in a while ~ hope all is well in OZ and G'day from Poole (east of Tolpuddle), Dorset! btw, this is not a photo of England! lol Best wishes, Julia x
Peter, I got your email about the Shindig Magazine review. LOVED IT! I am so glad for you guys...Your stuff (ALL OF IT) is superb! BTW...It is an honor seeing my mug on your tops! We will be recording a half dozen or so new songs that we have been working on for some time. My myspace will soon change too "Joe Byrd", my "hippie" name from my New York 60's days. That name came from the Byrds songs and the funny little Jim McGuinn glasses I used to wear. The name doesn't have the historical significance yours does, and I suggest that anyone reading this look up Tolpuddle Martyrs and read about these brave men! God bless ALL Tolpuddle Martyrs past and present! As soon as these recordings are done I will email you our tracks too review them. I would like that very much. I will send out a bulletin to my 8,000 plus friends to go to your site for a listen...Hope you get a lot of hits! STEADY ON!!!
I just finished listening to A Celebrated Man again...I honestly can't say which song I like best...Seems to be whichever song I am listening to at the time! It IS that good! Hear me clapping? The musicianship is outstanding...An ambient blend of chords and melody in a clear but powerful (redline the VU Meters) effect I refer too as; BRAINBLASTORGASMOPHORIA! It's an UP (I'm ALL THUMBS) album in every respect. Keep this up, and I'll get my wish, and see you right here in Sacramento California! STEADY ON!!!
