I like all sorts of music, especially things with computers in, like Venetian Snares and Mu-Ziq. I consider the artist known as Venetian Snares to be the greatest genius currently working in the field of popular music, and Bill Drummond of the KLF to be the greatest genius of all time ever. My favourite "classical" composers are Arvo Part, Sergei Prokofiev and Gyorgi Ligeti. I think Happy Hardcore is unfairly maligned. I wish I had been a young adult during the first Rave era. I would like to go to Japan. I enjoy cheese.
All these pieces of music were written by me, apart from "Lives Lost", which was written and performed by myself and Gavin Bradshaw.
"Swan" is performed by me; this was a sketch recording made in my bedroom.
"Johnny Viral Against the Machine" is a duet for pitched and unpitched percussion, here performed by BBC Young Musician of the Year Adrian Spillett and Mark Norman. Adrian described it as containing "the hardest xylophone part ever written".
"Of Two" is performed on Flute, Viola and Harp by players from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
"The Pyrrhic Victory of Cut and Paste" was performed by L'Indiscret, a baroque ensemble (consisting of Baroque Flute, Baroque Violin, Viola da Gamba and Harpsichord) based at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.
