  • Bio

The Story behind the Production of "Back To the Country". This album contains a wide variety of music and can be enjoyed by all kinds of music enthusiasts. The song genres vary from Country Rock to Ballads to Bluegrass. It's truly a unique sound of its own. "Back To The Country" includes 'Happy Mother's Day', a song for all mothers to enjoy! This is one special song and the only one of its kind. While Randy was on a ten-day vacation, Tom put a plan in motion to release some of the many songs that they had written. Tom contacted Tim Uhler, whom he had worked with in two previous bands, to play drums on the CD and also contacted Russ Hain, who plays just about everything with strings, also worked with Tom and Randy in local rock-n-roll band, "Shannon." As soon as Randy returned from vacation, Tom, Randy, and Tim started recording songs in Tim’s basement. Richard Ruppert, their studio engineer at Green Valley Studio, suggested that they pick ten songs for the CD. Since Russ did not live nearby, he did not take part in the sessions at Tim’s place. Instead Tom, Randy and Tim would record the songs and send tapes to Russ and Russ would add his part to the songs at home. The day before they went into the studio Tom and Russ got together to put the finishing touch to all songs. The next morning Tom, Randy, and Russ got their instruments and Tim took his cooler of soda and a couple drumsticks and headed to Green Valley Studio. The music was done by sending tapes through the mail until the day of recording. Tim and Russ got to meet each other for the very first time the day they walked into the studio. After tuning the instruments and setting the drums, they got right to work. Later that day the main structure of the CD was complete. Tom returned to the studio the following Wednesday, when he and Richard worked on the final mix. Later that afternoon the CD, "Back To the Country" was completed for everyone to enjoy.
