   About Tom Colborn
Tom Colborn has made a name for himself in Cambridge and beyond as a premier blues musician. Driving delta bottleneck and funky ragtime accompany the voice of a true blues shouter.

His set comprises self penned songs and instrumentals, blues standards and rarely performed songs from the tradition.

He has gigged extensively in and around Cambridge and further afield, at distinguished jazz venue The Elm Tree, The Flying Pig, The Cambridge Folk Festival, Strawberry Fair, The Shed at the Junction and numerous other pubs and bars. He has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, providing live music in “La Zapatera Prodigiosa” following its recording breaking run in ‘The Playroom’.

He has started appearing on the London circuit, at “Bullet” and “Bordello” Clubs and the Harrison and the Green Note in Camden. This year he has performed at ‘The Lounge on the Farm Festival’ in Kent and as guitarist in “The Jelly Royale” at the Big Chill.

He has supported Roy Byron Brown, Nick Harper, Halpin and Alcock among many others. He has jammed with blues luminaries such as Michael Messer and Lousiana Red.

He has recorded two albums of self-penned material, and an EP with fingerstyle maestro Steve Williams. He has also contributed to “Live At Forty” - the Cambridge Folk Club’s ‘Birthday’ album, and to harmonica master Steve Lockwood’s forthcoming album. He has lectured on the history of blues at Btec and HND level.

He has recently appeared on BBC DJ Sue Marchant’s show, playing two selections from his new album ‘About Time’ and has just completed a jingle for BBC radio.

“...brilliant blues guitarist...prodigiously talented...”

Real City Magazine

“...If a blues comeback is round the corner, Tom will be riding high on that new wave...”

“...He played his songs with gravel in his guts and spit in his eye..”

Michael Gillet “Pure” Review

“Tom has built a reputation as one of Cambridge’s best blues guitarists”

Cambridge Evening News

“...Amazing blues talent...”

Explorer Magazine

“You’re an inspiration!”

Sue Marchant, BBC Radio Cambridgeshire
