"....(Tom's) calming yet emotive voice wraps around his songs of heartbreak and hope like smoke from a winter fire." - The Courier Mail
"...you almost feel that you've snuck into Cooney's room and are reading his diary.....at times just a lone guitar and voice so close you feel you can reach out and touch them." - Time Off
“Presque Vu” released by new independent label, el nino el nino - a label run for, and by, artists.
New album on the way, stay tuned.
"Presque Vu is beautifully touching and prettily austere. Think Ryan Adams with fewer country roots or Fionn Regan with a smidgen more rock atmospherics. Think well worth having." - The Sydney Morning Herald.
"Subdued yet capable of understated power, Cooney’s is a voice that instantly moves the listener." - Time Off

I have lost your fins. I have lost no love for you though.
I have searched high and low. I have created various stories about the whereabouts of your fins and it's time to come clean.
YOUR FINS ARE LOST.
There.
I said it.
However, I will replace them and give you a handjob considering I have had them for about two years. I have fucking seen them about, like ghosts that walk in the night. Mocking me, flapping under the bed, leaving small nuggets of blue rubber poo in my pantry. I set a trap made out of a riptide magazine and sex wax, but the fuckers took the bait and disappeared again.
I hope you can forgive me on this high crime of barrel court.
In other surfing news, I just got eight (I counted, yes) very large and scary barrels at the famous ..MEXICAN PIPELINE¨in Puerto Escondido in Mexico. I am not even kidding. Unfortunately, I had to spend a week in hospital and that cut the surf short. I will load up photos to my Facebook.
