There are so many words to describe singer/songwriter TOMI JONES: talented, beautiful, spiritual, sexy, dedicated, strong. The list goes on and you’ve heard them all when is comes to female singers. But the one thing you can definitely say about TOMI JONES is that she is undeniable. Singing since she was a young girl growing up in Columbus, Ohio, TOMI JONES learned her craft the hard way, she fought for it. Her Jehovah Witness family wasn’t the most supportive…at first. School plays, talent shows, sneaking off to sing at local clubs and bars, TOMI found her voice and soon became a hometown favorite.
Fast forward to 2005; frustrated by the bad deals and broken promises, TOMI was approached by an old friend who asked her to join a group he wanted to put together. Missez released the single “Love Song” featuring Pimp C (R.I.P.). Touring and recording over the next year and a half, in 2007 TOMI made one of the most difficult decisions she’s ever made. She had the courage to follow her heart. There was another path for her. Calling it “one of the best experiences I’ve ever had,” there is no love lost between any of the girls in the group. “I’m still a proud member of Missez!” she proclaims.
Call it fate.

This time around, TOMI JONES is ready to show the world what she has— raw talent, real beauty, skills with the pen. Working with her longtime producer, Tyrice Jones as well as some of the biggest names in music, TOMI is finishing up her debut album, tentatively entitled Karma. “Karma is a funny thing. I just know that I’m a good person, I make good music and I’m at peace with everything I’ve done in my life. But, I can’t say that for other folks I’ve met along this journey. You don’t wish bad on anyone, you just know that what you put out is what you get back.” Writing from experience and singing from the heart, Karma is filled with funky mid-tempos, sexy ballads and bass booming club bangers. “There is something on there for everyone,” says TOMI. “Men and women can both relate to a lot of what I write because it’s about everyday situations. We all go through it at one point and we all get to the point where we say we’re not going to go through it anymore.” Focused on making timeless music and really making her mark in this business, TOMI JONES ain’t going nowhere! Get over it!
