Tomma Roux broke onto the music scene in 2001 as one of the founding fathers of the legendary folk rock band Nevada Backwards. In 2002, his song “The Grain” was used by Kingpin Productions in the internationally acclaimed movie “Happy Hour”. His music has been described as “Vaudeville Pop” for its use of piano, storytelling lyrics, upright bass, trumpet, trombone, saxsaphone, electric guitar, and drums. . In 2007, Tomma landed a record deal with producer Rik Jakobs from Los Angeles, (the Kooks, Cold War Kids, ) resulting in the album “Carnival Called Love” which is due to release in stores on October 11th 2008. Its an eclectic mix of songs ranging from Ragtime to Jazz, from Dixie to Bossa Nova, all with story telling lyrics sung in very catchy melodies. With a lineup of seasoned jazz musicians, the live shows are always a magical affair. After all it is a carnival.
