Influences
The first two cds I ever bought were Sgt. Pepper and Andrew Lloyd Webber's greatest hits. Mind you, I was twelve, but it's significant as a start. From there I moved onward and upward in two different directions. On the one hand, there followed R.E.M., the pixies, the breeders, bad religion, weezer, that dog, and built to spill, and more. While the other hand held Gershwin, Aaron Copland, Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky, Dvorak, Bernstein, and even more. You see the dilemma. Concert bands, marching bands, big bands, trombone ensembles, brass choirs, pop/punk bands, indie rock bands, and a soul band on Beale Street. I could go on, but the point is I never graduated. Let's fill in the gaps a little, bridge the chasms, if you will. The Ventures, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington,Willie Nelson, Herb Alpert, Johnny Cash, Belle and Sebastian, Roy Orbison, Neil Young. If you were wondering what the first TAPE I ever bought was, here it is: INXS, Kick.
Conceived in the unseasonably mild, waning moments of 2004, we set out merely to test drive some arrangements for a pending solo record by Tommy. Twelve months later all we have is a two-song demo, a loyal and emotional group of friends and believers, and a year's worth of devestation to ponder. 2 acoustic guitars, 2 trombones, a french horn, a trumpet, two violins, a drum kit (assembled, played by Trace), most of another kit (in pieces, scattered throughout the band), orchestra bells, and sometimes a bandoneon, melodica, or harmonica. Am I leaving anything out?
Well, let me put it this way. . .
A pit orchestra from a community theater near you meets a chamber ensemble and waxes romantic about michael stipe singing cowboy songs with the Tijuana Brass.

I think the last comment you left on my page was spam bullshit, so your page may be hacked, but rock oh, and The Mongrel Horde will invade the US soon.
