Why not? Maybe the next time you're away, you can take a few for me? And maybe when you're 80 and can't find your teeth, I will send them to you to cheer you up :)
Any time there is a tragedy, a sudden unexpected death I am once again reminded that life is so fragile. It also reminds me to focus on the present, to let the hurts and disappointments of the past slip away, and let go of the concerns and fears of the future. Because of the magnitude of this event, the need for self reflection was even greater, as we are reminded that life is so precious. Goals, plans, purchases which were once important the week prior to the event now seem trivial by comparison. As with so many others, we have made some changes in our life plans in the wake of these events.
What becomes more precious is the time spent with loved ones. Tender moments with our children take on greater meaning. For a time following this tragedy, as we remember the 'Wake-up Call" we will treasure every moment. Perhaps most important of all, this event has taught us the Value of Time and the need to remember that Time waits for no one.
Most any man can father a child for this we know is true, but to be a good dad there's a whole lot more for all these men to do. They have to have strength to endure long days even though their bodies be tired, the love in their hearts has to show in their eyes to the child who so admires. They have to show honesty through each day and show that life is worth living, they have to show caring in all they do in taking and in giving. Understanding has to be a big part of the father's heart as well, and though he feels pain or hurts at times he may never, never tell. They have a great laughter that shows in their eyes and comes rolling from within, to light up the faces of each little child as each day draws to an end. Hopes for today, Dreams for tomorrow is what they must keep showing, and though they grow old they still feel great joy, for the love of their children keeps growing.
