A JOURNEYMAN MUSICIAN, played blues for over 25 years and has embarked on a new adventure into Irish/Celtic music. Enjoying playing both styles and turning new young audiences on to the power of the blues. I lead two Bands "Night Shift" and the Rakes. NightShift features The "Chief" Schabuttie Gillimae 82yr old native of Africa on Vocals. . Paul Townsend is a veteran bassist of the Phoenix Music scene, he plays both electric and Upright Bass. New players to be announced soon
I have played with many legendary blues musicians including James Cotton Nappy Brown, Joe Beard,and Kenny Neal. I have opened shows for Albert King,Duke Robilliard, DownChild Blue band and Savoy Brown.
I won the 93 and 94 blues showdown sponsered by the Phx Blues Society and competed in Memphis for the national Finals in 1993.
I am working to incorporate Irish Pubstyle rock into the Nightshift songlist and maintaining a pure Irish Trad sound in the "Rakes" a la' Dubliners, Chieftains,Lunasa,Solas; Danu and Altan.
